What: Join us for the Soul District Business Exchange: Resources, Capital & Connection, a dynamic event designed to bring small business owners face-to-face with the resources, relationships, and opportunities needed to grow and thrive.
Hosted by the Soul District Business Association (SDBA) in partnership with Prosper Portland’s Office of Small Business, city land use and zoning experts, and Columbia Bank, this event creates a one-stop space for navigating key aspects of running and expanding a business.
From 2:30–4:30 PM, attendees can drop in for free open office hours to receive technical support and guidance on city requirements, zoning and occupancy questions, permitting, and access to capital and lending solutions.
From 4:30–6:30 PM, the space transitions into a networking mixer where entrepreneurs can build connections, exchange ideas, and learn more about SDBA’s programs, including technical assistance, business development support, and pathways to growth within the Soul District.
Whether you’re just getting started or looking to scale, this event is about unlocking access, building relationships, and strengthening our local business ecosystem together.

What: Thrive is an intentional gathering of Black innovation and abundance. Join Brown Hope and the Black American Chamber of Commerce for a special opportunity to uplift Portland’s Black businesses.
Thrive is a platform for Black voices to be heard and supported. We’re seeking Black entrepreneurs and aspiring Black business owners across industries to make connections, share resources, and discuss policy. We’ve also invited local elected leaders and economic development agencies to listen to the perspectives and lived experiences of the community.
The event will feature networking opportunities, a fireside chat with Black business leaders, and a brainstorming activity to discuss effective strategies that advance Black economic prosperity. Food and drink will be provided.
